How does Famotidine Tablet work?
An anti-ulcer drug, Famotidine belongs to the histamine receptor-2 blocker class. The secretion of gastric acid occurs when H-2 receptors present in the cell membranes of stomach cells are stimulated. By blocking the H-2 receptors, gastric acid will not be secreted, thus helping the ulcer heal.

What are the side effects of Famotidine Tablet?
Famotidine could be responsible for certain side effects in animals. This drug should not be administered to animals with hypersensitivity or allergy. Famotidine should be prescribed with extreme caution in animals with kidney or liver disease.

Famotidine exhibits the tendency to interact with other medications such as Digoxin and Ketoconazole. Famotidine should also be used with caution in pets that are pregnant or pets suffering from liver, kidney, or heart disease. Therefore, consult a veterinarian before administering Famotidine to your pet.
What to do if overdose?
Overdose of Famotidine is rare, but if you suspect your pet may have overdosed, seek emergency veterinary medical treatment. Symptoms of Famotidine overdose may include vomiting, pale gums, rapid heart rate, restlessness, or collapse.
How can I store Famotidine Tablet?
Store Famotidine Injection at 2°-8°C (36°-46°F). If solution freezes, bring to room temperature; allow sufficient time to solubilize all the components.
Overview
The recommended dose of Famotidine to be administered to pets is 0.25 to 0.5 mg per pound (0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg) every 12 to 24 hours.If you miss a dose while giving your pet Famotidine, administer is as soon as your remember during the same day. However, if you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and only give your pet the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not give your pet a double dose of Famotidine.
