What is Gabapentin Capsule?
Gabapentin may be prescribed by your veterinarian for the treatment of Idiopathic epilepsy, pain management, seizures due to neonatal hypoxia. In cats and dogs Gabapentin is used to treat chronic pain, particularly of neuropathic origin. Gabapentin is also used as an adjunctive therapy for dogs and cats with refractory idiopathic epilepsy. In horses, Gabapentin may be used to control seizures in foals suffering from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

What are the side effects of Gabapentin Capsule?
The most common side effect seen with Gabapentin is sedation. Your pet should be monitored for symptoms such as incoordination or drowsiness.
What special precautions are there?
Gabapentin is eliminated from the body almost entirely by the kidneys and urinary tract. Therefore, gabapentin should be used cautiously in animals suffering from kidney disease.

Contact your nearest emergency pet hospital immediately.
How can I store Gabapentin Capsule?
Store at room temperature.

You should not stop giving Gabapentin to your pet suddenly. Doing so can result in life-threatening seizure activity.

Gabapentin should be used as directed by your veterinarian.
Dogs/Puppies:
For seizures: 4.5 mg-13.5 mg per pound every 8-12 hours
For pain: 1.4 mg per pound once a day
Cats/Kittens:
For seizures: 2.3 mg per pound 3 times a day
For pain: 1.4 mg per pound once a day
