Pet Medications from GoodRx for Pets
What does “Rx required” mean?
Pet medications marked “Rx required” mean that it is a medication that requires a valid prescription from a veterinarian.
How do I place an order for Rx pet medication?
To purchase a prescription pet medication, simply add the medication to your cart and proceed through the checkout process. During this process, you’ll be asked for information about your pet and about your veterinarian. We’ll use this information to contact your veterinarian on your behalf to verify approval of the prescription.

What is the RX process?
Once you place the order for pet medications, Good Pet Rx will contact your veterinarian for prescription approval. If we have your email address on file, we will send you updates each time we attempt to contact your vet and to let you know once we have received the prescription. We’ll also use your email address to notify you if we’re unable to reach your vet or verify the prescription.
Why is my order status Rx Hold?
Orders for Rx pet medications will be placed on hold if we are unable to get prescription approval from your vet.
How long does it take to process prescriptions after the pharmacy receives it by mail?
After we receive the original prescription via mail, your order will be processed within 24 to 48 hours.
Can I fax or email my prescription?
No. Customers must mail in the original prescription. Scanned or faxed copies can only be accepted directly from veterinary offices.
Can I mail my prescription after the order gets processed?
No. We cannot process orders for Rx medications until after we either receive the original prescription or are able to verify the prescription with your vet.
How often are veterinarians contacted?
GoodRx for Pets reaches out to vets the same day if the order is placed during business hours. The first attempt is made by fax, unless it’s a mobile veterinarian. If we do not receive a reply, we follow up by phone every 2 business days.
How long does it take GoodRx for Pets to ship an order after Rx approval is received?
Once Rx approval is received from your vet, orders are processed within 24 hours.
Are prescription items refundable?
We are unable to provide refunds for Rx medications.
When can I cancel my prescription order?
Orders for prescription pet medications can be canceled up until the time the prescription has been prepared. Once prepared, Good Pet Rx cannot accept cancelations.
